Our FAQ page has information about abortion access and resources, and our phone line will be open until February 29th to provide information and help navigate systems
You do not need an referral from a doctor to book an appointment. Appointments can be made by calling 1-855-978-5434. You can expect 10-20 minutes on the phone when booking an appointment, and to answer some medical questions. Keep in mind that the earlier the abortion is performed, the safer it is for you.
Counselling, ultrasound and a doctor's exam can be done in the same visit as your abortion, so you'll only need to come to our clinic once. The clinic provides procedures up to 15 weeks and 6 days. If your ultrasound reveals that you have been pregnant for 16 weeks or more, a counsellor will be available to discuss your options. You can expect to be at the clinic for 3 to 6 hours, however, the actual abortion takes around 30 minutes. There may be a medical student or junior physician involved in your care. A local anaesthetic is provided, as well as other pain relieving medications if necessary. You will be advised not to operate a vehicle after your appointment. If you do not have transportation, support may be available.
Abortions in clinics are not paid for by Medicare in New Brunswick. The cost on an abortion ranges from $700-$850, depending on how far along you are. Financial Assistance may be available for those in need.

If you are interested in getting an IUD (intrauterine device) inserted, our doctors may be able to do it right after your procedure. We charge $85 for the Copper IUD and $400 for the Mirena. Some drug insurance companies reimburse patients for this cost and a compassionate program is available. If you have insurance, you can check with your provider. Let us know if you are interested in an IUD when you are booking your appointment, as we have several options for arranging this that we can discuss with you in advance.
*** If you have had sex within the last 5 days and think you may be pregnant, emergency copper IUD appointments are available - please call our office for more information. ***
